Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella will be reunited with an old friend in Saturday’s trip to Cagliari, as the Italian faces off against his old teammate turned head coach Fabio Pisacane.

As has been recalled by today’s edition of Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, the duo last worked together in 2019.

However, the reports also claim that Barella and Pisacane have stayed in touch and are still close today.

The pair were teammates in Sardinia and the Inter midfielder even went to support Pisacane’s Cagliari in last season’s Coppa Italia Primavera final.

The reports underline how Barella has remained loyal to his old club.

Barella was upset by criticism when he missed the funeral of iconic I Sardi forward Gigi Riva.

However, the Italian paid tribute to the iconic number nine privately instead.

Now, two old friends will face each other once again.

Barella returns to the island of Sardinia in a must-win game for Inter.
