Turkish champions Galatasaray have not quit their pursuit of Inter Milan midfield stalwart Hakan Calhanoglu.
According to Corriere della Sera via FCInter1908, the Rams Park giants remain hopeful of signing the 31-year-old.
Galatasaray’s attempt to lure Hakan Calhanoglu to Istanbul in the summer failed to come to fruition.
Despite reaching out to the player’s agent to discuss the move, they refused to match Inter’s €30 million asking price.
Therefore, they never stood a chance of landing the former AC Milan playmaker.
Galatasaray Remain in Race for Inter Milan Star Hakan Calhanoglu
Unfazed by the summer failure, Galatasaray may give it another go in the January transfer window.
Indeed, Okan Buruk’s men intend to test Inter’s resolve with a tangible offer in the region of €15 million.
However, that’s still well below Inter’s valuation of their best player this season.
Calhanoglu has left the summer uncertainty behind him, hitting the ground running under Cristian Chivu.
For perspective, he is Inter’s leading goalscorer in Serie A this term with five goals.
As such, Inter will hardly negotiate his sale midway through the campaign.
