As some reports have already suggested during the week, English Premier League side Everton are interested in Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, class of ’92. Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport confirms that the team from Liverpool want to sign the Croatian international and refers to the offer that Inter have received at their headquarters at Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

The offer from Everton involves cash up front for Brozovic plus Dutch player Davy Klaassen in exchange. The ex-Ajax player is more of a trequartista than a mezzala, but a player that has not played since September due to technical reasons. “The answer from Inter has been more than cold and if you read between the lines it is obvious that Inter wants hard cash for Brozovic and no other deal. One of the reasons for that is that, should Brozovic leave, there would open up a slot in Inter’s roster in midfield where Inter would look to sign a midfielder with more defensive qualities.
