Last week, one of Maicons made statements in the French press in a way that could be interpreted as if a farewell was near. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, it is now very likely that Inter will decide to sell the Brazilian right back, whose contract expires in 2013, after six successful years with the club:
“Reaching an agreement on the contract extension will be very difficult because the player is requesting more than the 4 million he earns today. For this reason, it seems that a farewell is inevitable.”
