Inter’s goalkeeping legend Walter Zenga, who works as a coach these days, reveals his thoughts about Inter’s new goalkeeper Samir Handanovic in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport:

“During my career as a coach, I have always preferred a goalie who doesn’t make miraculous saves from time to time, but one that always creates a calm. Handanovic has a simplicity and calmness, he is efficient, he has a presence and personality. He has met expectations: replacing someone like Julio Cesar is not easy, but he succeeds because the unity in the team is strong and when it is strong you feel more confident and vice versa.”

Zenga concludes by joking about that there is another reason why he likes Handanovic, a reason that is not connected to football:

“My daughter’s name is Samira and his name is Samir so I even like his name.”
