Roberto Mancini spoke to Rai as well after the 3-1-loss at the Mapei.
“I would have not been happy if we would have finished third, because you can always do more. We had a good season, finishing higher up in the table and we need to start over with this conviction next year as well. Tonight we had a lot of absences in defense, Murillo’s drop in form was felt but it was foreseeable. Next year he will do very well.”
Mancini then pointed out that mistakes were made by the whole defensive line. He was not happy with the motivation from the players, saying all need be motivated every game. If not it is better to stay at home. As for next season he says:
“We will restart with the goal of finishing at least third and to win at least one trophy. We will evaluate how to do this.”
