Inter captain Mauro Icardi spoke with InterTV after the 2-0 win on the day 13 of the 2017/2018 Serie A season, against Atalanta at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
“I think the second goal was the most beautiful one, when I scored the first one I was all by myself but in order to score the second one I had to break free from the defender and find the ball. I could have scored a hat-trick if only I could have scored on the chance I had in the first half, that mistake irritates me a bit, I must do better in that situation” Icardi began before being asked his opinion on particular episodes in the match.
Do you think you should have had a penalty?
“I think so. The referee said that he checked the situation out via VAR and that is good enough for me, we won the game despite that.”
Is the Champions League your objective?
“Yes, we know that. This is our objective and we need to stay focused on that.”
Are you ready for December 9th when you travel to Turin to play Juventus?
“Yes, of course. Ah, we do not play on the 10th? That’s much better, because on the 10th of December it is Wanda’s birthday, that means that I will be home if we play on the 9th.”
How much of your improvement is thanks to Spalletti?
“He has contributed a lot, he and the rest of the staff are working a lot and we have all improved. Spalletti is very important for us.”
How badly do you want to be the top scorer of the league?
“The important thing is that Inter wins, then we will see.”
How much does Icardi cost if Neymar is worth €200 million?
“I do not think about that, I want to stay here. I hope to be an icon like Zanetti, everybody knows that.”
How much do you practice finding the goal?
“Not that much, that is more about instinct. I practice a lot of other aspects of the game.”
A lot of fans at the stadium, like always these days?
“We have a great attendance average and it is important to keep on winning for them.”
Humble responses
You need to value respect and loyalty more than fame and money in order to do that mauro.
what makes you say he doesnt? hes the one who says he wants to be here.. and not move… if that is not loyalty what is? if he wants to be remembered like Zanetti doesnt that mean he respects Zanetti and Inter and wants to do the same thing?
Talk is a talk. He’s so very long to be the new icon like JZ4. Im not talking about him now, but many years ahead he needs to do that. There will he tons of offers for him to leave Inter, for more fame and money.
i agree.. but i believe we do need him as much as he needs us.. it has to go both ways.. you need a person who is willing to sacrifice and work hard for the team.. and he is doing that .. he has improved in so many aspects of his game this season… not many strikers will run back and win back possession like he is doing this season and that is great to see..
Yes, bro. No one can deny how much Inter needs Icardi right now and how much Icardi gives Inter. But if he’s talking about being an icon like JZ4, he’s still need very very much to prove.
If he’s talking about being like vieri, or milito in regards to goalscoring contribution well yes he can do that. But being like JZ4, wow it’s totally a different thing.
I believe he is being loyal to Inter more than we expected , don’t forget any team out there would take him . I get it he can get a lil cocky sometimes but Inter needs him very much and he is keep saying it he wants to be at Inter forever !
Well bro you know how much icardi loves wanda, and wanda loves money. You know how much money is talking in nowadays football.
We will rarely see players like totti, buffon, zanetti, maldini in this era. And for Icardi to be one like them, still very long way to go.
He has a 100mil release clause and at this point Spurs can buy him (Kane will go to Real), and pay him triple of what he earns at Inter. I don’t think Mauro would leave though!
At this point yes, mauro maybe will stay with us. Moreover if we can get ucl next season. But yeah who knows that the future holds many years ahead.
Thank You for saying that Champ a Inter without Icardi is like a sexy woman with no boobs
Weird.
What is weird about it !!!! ?? Maybe you are weird .
Maybe it’s because English isn’t your first language. It sounds perverted.
Sounds like your Irish name stups
Milan and Napoli and other teams are searching with a candle to find someone like Mairo
LOL
LOL, its a new age my friend; petite figures are in fashion. just look at ALL Victoria secret models, there are probably more boobs in this comment section than there is at VS’s fashion show
Yea OK !
Keep doing what you’re doing and you can stay forever.
YES PLEASE. STAY AS LONG AS INTER NEED YOU.
