One of the best players in last night’s fixture against Cagliari, Antonio Candreva, was interviewed by Sky Sport after the important away win in day 14 of the Serie A season at Sardegna Arena.

Candreva began by speaking about the match against Cagliari and the important role Spalletti played in the win: “We are there, we are doing something important, and we want to continue doing that and to reach our objectives at the end of the season. We knew what was coming when we went to Sardinia, but we know what we are able to do. We are strong and we are a strong group. Last year we had some problems, this year we have a coach that is very strong and as long we keep on following him we are on the right path. For the entire week, the coach told us that we are a great team, with a great responsability, knowing what we are capable of.”

The the former Lazio player was asked about Icardi’s importance for the team saying: “Mauro means the world to us, we talk a lot during practice and we always try to do whatever he wants. I always try to do my best, if I manage to get a decent ball in the opponents area he’ll get the job done. If he does not think the cross was good enough everybody blames Candreva [laughs]. Everybody in the team said that if he will become the Serie A top goalscorer he has to give us a nice present.”
