During Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Lazio, Lazio player Stefan de Vrij may have given the final proof of his capabilities and qualities when he practically erased Inter attacker Mauro Icardi on the pitch, not giving the Argentinian much space to hurt Lazio in the area. According to TuttoSport, Inter is in pole position, although not with much, for signing the Dutch central defender thanks to an offer worth 4 million € per year (bonuses included) for four years. This is at least 1.5 million € more than what de Vrij is getting from Lazio at the moment. But nothing is done yet, there is of course still some competition from Lazio where their Sporting Director (and former Lazio striker) Igli Tare is convinced that the Rome-based team will success in making de Vrij renew his contract. Something that he stated during the pre-game interviews at San Siro. But Inter is still in pole position.
