After the final whistle of today’s game against Bologna, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti talked to Premium Sport in the mixed zone and had the following to say: “To overcome a difficult moment like this is never easy for any football player. Now we have taken an important first step and today the players were great. We take the lead and almost immediately after they equalize and we have to make a substitution due to an injury, the recent games all have been like that. But the second half was perfect, we had the opportunity to control the game with one man more, but instead we dropped a lot of easy balls. But we did not concede any shots at goal. Karamoh? He did really well and has these very important skills with speed and technique. He made a fantastic goal today. Brozovic? The club and the coach must set the rules, and he who does not follow them is automatically excluded. Not because we are punishing him but because he is not behaving like the rest of the group. Today I wanted something different from the group from the beginning and started a bit differently compared to how we normally start, I wanted Perisic to play as a left half-winger, which is a future role of him. Then we had to focus on maintaining a balance.”
Spalletti: “Great performance under the circumstances”

Anybody notice how perisic was like being shoot on the left hand..was it really hurts so much..looks like his left hand was broken or something
Perisic as a left half winger? What does it mean?
Means he is playing more as a Left medfielder than an attacking winger, so he has to defend more and shouldn’t sit high up in the field.
He doesn’t have passing ability, his strongest is his speed and agility, dribbling, goal scoring instinct and crosses… So it sounds strange for me.
Pioli tried him last season and faild miserably
That’s odd.
In a three-man midfield system, such as (for example) 4-3-1-2, the left and right midfielder can be considered a half-winger. This was the formation used vs Bologna. Karamoh was a Shadow Striker next to Eder, while Vecino the Right Half-Winger, and Perisic Left-Half Winger.

That position is good for someone like Seedorf or Lampard, not Perisic.

After the first red card we could have gone into more offensive but somehow Bolonga had several opportunities and could easily equalized, I think he is resposible of the downfall even if he is not the only one to blame, managment and players loosed their focous.
You are right. And that’s where Spalletti should have contributed. Motivate the players and if they show lack of commitment bench. Don’t mind seeing some primaveras running their socks off
