During the press conference where PSG player Javier Pastore was presented as a new AS Roma player, Monchi, Sporting Director of AS Roma explained what reasons finally led him to sell Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan to Inter.
“We made a choice and I get that some of you understand why and some of you do not. An offer from Inter was on the table, we decided to take it under consideration and then we found an agreement. These are things of a Sporting Directors every day life, they are in our work description.”
When asked about the situation regarding the renewal of Alessandro Florenzi, another Roma player that has been linked with Inter, he explained: “It is normal that the way a Sporting Director thinks is close to the way the coach thinks. Florenzi is a very strong player, but we still have not found any agreement, but the main idea is to keep him here.”
