The renewal agreement between Roma and Alessandro Florenzi seems to be far away, something that Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport reported on Sunday. CdS is pessimistic about the outcome of the negotiations and underlines that the decisive week is getting closer.

“Roma have upped their offer to €2.7 million plus bonuses but Florenzi’s entourage wants more, especially since there are other clubs that are offering €4 million. For a 5-year contract that would mean €20 million.

“What clubs are we talking about? Both Inter and Atletico Madrid are determined to get the signature of Florenzi. If he should leave together with Nainggolan for Inter, Florenzi would be guaranteed a starting position, whereas at Roma under Di Francesco he would not, especially if Karsdorp should recuperate to 100% and prove his talents as a right winger.

“Florenzi has lost some market but is still worth €15-20 million so Roma will not let him go too cheap. Meanwhile Monchi and the Roma fans can just hope that there is not a problem and that Florenzi will not leave for another club.”
