Last week Inter played their first pre-season friendly against Swiss side Lugano, and for that game the team played with a four-man defence. Today marks the day of their second friendly match, when they will play against another Swiss side in Sion (kick-off 18.30 CET) in the “Trophée de Tourbillon” – a tournament organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the stadium.
Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Inter coach Luciano Spalletti intends to play the duration of the match with a four-man defence, this time with Brazilian Dalbert on the right and recently added Kwadwo Asamoah on the left.
Lautaro Martinez will start the game while Mauro Icardi will make his season debut during the second half, after spending last week working on a personalised training program that forced him to be left out of the game against Lugano. Inter’s management wanted to avoid what happened during last season’s summer retreat, when Icardi got some physical problems.
