It’s not only current transfer stories that receive attention during the summer market. Sometimes past stories of transfers that could have been are covered as well.

One of those stories discussed this summer concerns the Inter right-back Danilo D’Ambrosio.

In an evening news broadcast on Italian TV-channel Sky, D’Ambrosio’s agent Vincenzo Pisacane talked about what could have happened with his client in the past.

“It is true that Napoli liked my client a lot when Maurizio Sarri was in charge,” the agent confirmed. “But Inter were clear that the player was not for sale. That is because Danilo has been with Inter for many years, he likes the club and the city of Milan a lot and he does not want to leave.”

D’Ambrosio is therefore currently getting ready for yet another season with Inter, although the Italian will face tougher competition for a place in the starting XI this year, compared with previous seasons, following the arrivals of Sime Vrsaljko and Kwadwo Asamoah.
