After moving on from Arturo Vidal and other tough news regarding Luka Modric, Inter’s dream this mercato, was received at Inter headquarters yesterday. At this certain point, at least according to Corriere dello Sport, another solution is gaining ground: that of a Mr Y arriving from the Premier League.

Yesterday Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, made it clear through the website of Marca, that a wall against Inter when it comes to signing Luka Modric has been raised: “The only possibility that Modric leaves us is if someone pays €750 million.”

This is not all a matter of numbers, the Spanish side just can not allow themselves to lose coach Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and Modric before the new season starts. This year’s MVP in the World Cup has not given up: the idea of leaving Spain yo sign for Inter came to him when being asked by his agent Lemic and intermediary Beppe Riso. Modric seems keen on starting a new adventure, especially since he likes the city of Milan and is intrigued by the Serie A, especially after the arrival of Ronaldo.

Inter at the moment is a spectator without any arguments to convince Florentino Perez to accept the same deal as the one with Vidal, maybe offering a bit more. What is left is for the player to actively show that he wants to leave, and his agent Lemic is going to Madrid today or tomorrow. The other alternative is upon his return from vacation, Madrid asks to speak to Perez. In this case this will go down somewhere between Sunday and Monday.

In the meanwhile Ausilio was at Appiano Gentile late last night, speaking with Inter coach Luciano Spalletti. Spalletti, who after this weeks events, expects a true reinforcement on midfield, not just any player. If Modric does not come he still needs to be a player with quality. Otherwise it is better to stop and explain why the big signing did not come. At Corso Vittorio Emanuele there is a casting going on with all sorts of agents offering their clients to the club. There is still the possibility of Mateo Kovacic coming to Inter on loan. And then there is the Premier League where certain players are being evaluated. Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic was suggested to be an alternative since he no longer seems to be part of United’s future plans but he lacks the characteristics of both Modric and Vidal. Another rumour is a player from Manchester City, but at the moment it is only a rumour.
