In today’s newspaper Italian broadsheet Corriere della Sera reports on how Inter’s interest in Real Madrid’s Luka Modric is progressing.
According to the report: “Florentino Perez raises the wall, Luka Modric has not changed his mind and Inter is willing to wait for the Croatian until 19.59 on August 17th, the day when the transfer market closes.”
“Yesterday, the Croatian midfielder, after having telephone contact with Real Madrid president where he explained his desire to move to Milano in order to start a new adventure, sent his agent Vlado Lemic to the meeting. The agent, who reminded Real Madrid’s management of their promise to let Modric go once his adventure with Real Madrid was coming to an end, presented Inter’s offer.
“A pity though that Perez rejected the idea of a loan deal with the right to redemption instead proposing a sale next year. Real Madrid has time on its side and Perez leaked to Spanish media that a contract for Modric is ready, a contract that would let him finally make as much money as Sergio Ramos. Perez is furious with Inter for approaching the player but Inter management pointed out that Real Madrid had the exact same behavior when they signed José Mourinho in 2010 or more recent when signing former National team coach Lopetegui.”
