Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport tries to clarify what is happening with Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric at the moment in today’s printed paper edition
According to the report: “Currently it seems like Modric is not too thrilled about starting negotiations for a renewal and even his entourage pointed out yesterday that his desire to leave Spain has nothing to do with money or a paycheck bump.
“Then of course, everything will become simpler for Florentino Perez once the Italian transfer market window closes on Friday. But until then another twist in the Luka Modric plot is not impossible. Lemic, Mijatovic and Rice need Modric to finally break with Real in order to make a change happen. How? By not going to Tallin for the European Supercup or at least go public with his wish to leave. Will that happen? At Inter headquarters this is something that does not seem totally unrealistic” Corriere continues.
In the meantime, rumors of a comeback to Inter for Rafinha have started to circulate: “Clearly, a loan deal with the possibility to redeem is the only solution to think of. Also because Spalletti already has Nainggolan in that role.” Other rumors suggest that Lille player Thiago Maia could go to Inter have also surfaced but are unverified.
