French Ligue 1 side Lille declined offers from Premier League clubs Newcastle and Watford for their Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia due to Inter expressing an interest in the player French media report.

According to French media outlet le10sport.com, during these past few hours representatives from Inter have accelerated talks for the Brazilian midfielder who is yet to make his senior international debut for Brazil having been picked for all nation’s youth teams from U-17 to U-23.

Inter have reportedly made on offer of around €20 million for the player but since the Nerazzurri cannot sign any more non-EU nationals this summer, the club has indicated that they are willing to let the youngster spend one more season with Lille in Ligue 1 before bringing him to the club the following summer.

Thiago Maia signed for Lille in 2017 for a reported fee of €14 million and has since then featured 37 times across all competitions scoring the one goal.
