After the summer’s transfer window closed yesterday, the Italian sports newspapers have given their verdict on the dealings of each club via the classic Italian rating system om 1-10.

Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport dubs Juventus as the queen of the transfer market with a grade of 9.0, shortly followed by Inter who get a grade of 8.5 grade and Roma is the last team on the podium with a 8.o grade. Milan and Torino had a good transfer market and they both get a 7.5 grade, followed by Atalanta and Fiorentina with 7.0 then five teams with 6.5 (Cagliari, Genoa, Lazio, Napoli and Sassuolo).

In short, according to the Gazzetta, Inter did a great job, second only to that of Juventus with the paper reporting that: “Inter was able to easily free itself from the chains of Financial Fair Play. The failure to bring Modric to Inter is what became a symbol for this year’s summer transfer market, but Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio still has a great menu of players to offer: Asamoah, De Vrij, Vrsaljko, Politano, Keita and above all Radja Nainggolan – all players that guarantee a leap in quality. But maybe the most delicious dish comes from Argentina with Lautaro Martinez who has every characteristics in becoming a top player. In Inter there is now a strong will to win the Scudetto.”

Rome based Corriere dello Sport give Inter a 9 stating that: “The best. Strongest, most physical, most technical. Better that they were unable to get Modric. The attacking players are convincing, with Keita Balde being the latest player to join Spalletti’s ranks. It is clear that Nainggolan will be rambling but it is also clear that someone like Vrsaljko resolves a million problems of solidity and thrust forwards. Lautaro is a pure diamond.”

Turin based Tuttosport also gives Inter a 9 stating that: “Inter have not had a transfer window like this since the days of the treble. Spalletti has two starting players for very position and will put themselves in the fight with Juventus and to honor the return to the Champions League. Keita, Nainggolan, Martinez and Politano will provide the goals that were missing last year.

“Modric would not only have been the cherry on the cake but the player would have made Inter perfect. The squad, as it is today, is very competitive but is too Brozovic depnedant in the middle of the pitch: will Asamoah be able to renew himself to fill that void?” Tuttosport concludes.
