Inter coach Luciano Spalletti analysed Inter’s first victory in this year’s Serie A in an interview Sky Sport Italia and had the following to say about the win that came in the final part of the game: “There were three beautiful goals scored partly because the game opened up after our first goal, something that also made Bologna leaving us with more space.”

The former Roma coach continued: “I think we immediately started the game well, we remained balanced with the risk of being too low, but we managed to stay out of trouble even if there was no space for counter attacks. We have to find equilibrium and calmness by playing like we did today. Against teams like Bologna, who defend deep it is important to pass the ball, being superior numerically and try to get behind their defensive line in the last third of their area. In this way you can move the ball from right to left. They kept two strikers on our two central defenders and that became risky for us. Bologna played a good tactical game, even on our last third where we could not punish them.”

Luciano Spalletti then proceeded to comment on the teams physical status: “We still have some players that play below their level which makes us really have to sweat in order to win games. It takes quality, the right kind of attitude and the right kind of behavior from everyone. Lautaro was not at 100% yesterday, today his muscles had tightened and we did not want to risk anything. Keita can play in that role, maybe with a bit more movement but can also stress the defense and dribble a bit more. He did attack more often and with more speed. We were always organized and whenever we lost the ball we did not allow them to create any kind of dangerous attacks. Whenever we find space then what Nainggolan did today could happen.”
