After the tough loss against Parma earlier this afternoon, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti stopped by Sky Sport Italia in order to analyze the game and comment on the performances seen today.

The former Roma tactician was asked about the physical status of Danilo D’Ambrosio who was brought off with an injury stating that: “D’Ambrosio’s injury creates problems for us. Him and Asamoah are the only players available for Tuesday. I told him to be careful, there was a game to be won but the win did not come and when things go against you these things seem to happen. Against Tottenham there is a chance that we can see Skriniar as a right fullback. He has the foot and the ability to play there, and he is a player that can take certain responsibilities. There is also the hypothesis with a three-man defense with Miranda.”

As many missteps as have been taken now, does that create uncertainties?

“Of course when you are Inter and you play in front of a lot of fans at San Siro and you have two losses, it is difficult to find any excuse. We have to do more and I have my part in being responsible. We did ok in the first half but we conceded a lot of counter attacks, just as many teams have done against Parma.”

Then we have the replay of Dimarco’s handball and the penalty not given?

“This is incredible, he touches the ball and deflects it away with his elbow this is obvious and I did not like their game obstruction, for example when Sepe threw out that ball on the field. But all-in-all we need to do better and we need to show the difference. In the second half when we tried to go for it we became a bit confused. Then the lost ball with the team not ready allowed Dimarco to score, he did it well.”

At what point is Inter now?

“Up until the goal we are there, then it went south because we were not precise and a bit unfortunate. When you put on Politano for example, and it seems that he does not have what it takes. It is a matter of tension, one feels too much and by that gets limited.  It is all about the attention, not the preparation.”

Do the four points reflect the performance so far?

“Something went wrong, now we have to analyze exactly what that was according to what se should be able to do and if some players perform less than they should it is a question about the coach.”
