Inter will face Tottenham on Tuesday in the first round of the Champions League and the team is in a bit of a pickle. Sime Vrsaljko is out, Dalbert is not registered for the Champions League and D’Ambrosio is currently out after an injury from yesterday’s game against Parma. The only certain player is Asamoah.
Milano based newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport explains that: “The most serious situation is the Vrsaljko one. The Croatian watched yesterday’s game from the stands because his left knee continues to hurt. It is an inflammation and is something that the Croat has felt since the game against Russia in the World Cup this summer. Last Tuesday against Spain, Vrsaljko again felt pain in his knee. The result: being in the stands at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza without any clear timetable of his return. For now, Inter medical staff is proceeding with conservative therapy, as for now no surgery is needed.”
As for the rest, D’Ambrosio could play, although he would not be at his best: “We are talking about a simple thigh contusion that puts the player in a lot of pain, but there are no muscle injuries to talk about.
