Tonight we will not only see the challenge between the two teams, but also a challenge between two incredible strikers, Inter captain Mauro Icardi versus Tottenham skipper Harry Kane.
Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport analyzes the two strikers in today’s paper edition of the paper: “Both are born in 1993, one with zero games in the competition, the other with 10 goals in 9 games, both captains and both with the same goal record in their respective championship: 110, even though Maurito has played in 193 Serie A matches where as Harry Kane has played in ‘only’ 158 Premier League matches.”
Today also marks the day of Icardi’s long-awaited debut in the Champions League. A game that comes after a tough beginning of the season both when it comes to the team’s performance and Icardi’s own performance as the Gazzetta highlights: “In order to get rid of the bitterness from the first games of the season, Icardi needs to perform at the highest level, Mauro is not the player from last Saturday, or from the games against Sassuolo and Torino. Three shots on goal in three games, is not good enough for Icardi.”
