Ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport focuses on previous encounters between the two sides concluding that if history is anything to go by, there will be plenty of goals tonight.

According to the report: “If the tradition between Inter and Fiorentina continues, no one at San Siro will be bored tonight qnd this time it has nothing to do with the “Pazza Inter” we are so used to see from time to time, capable of everything and the opposite of everything. No, in this match up involving Fiorentina and Inter, no game is like the other, except when counting goals. In the last 6 games there have been 28 goals, this means an average of  4.6 goals per game.”

The Gazzetta continue: “the most recent one at San Siro was the season opener last year, a tough night for Stefano Pioli who saw his first time at the stadium since being sacked as an Inter coach the season before which ended 3-0 for the black-and-blue where Ivan Perisic scored the third goal after a brace from Mauro Icardi in the first half.”
