There are several conflicting reports floating around in Italy currently regarding the future of Brescia’s Italian international midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Earlier this evening Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia aired a report stating that Inter have encountered two problems in their pursuit of Sandro Tonali, both financial in nature.

The first issue, according to that report being that the Nerazzurri are yet to make an official offer to Brescia for the player, because Inter is forced to first sell before buying players, due to the financial effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and not due to UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.

The second issue, according to the same report, is that the club are struggling to selling players in the same role on the pitch as Tonali plays.

This was further echoed moments ago by Sky Sport Italia’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio who reported further that AC Milan are trying to take advantage of the fact that Inter are stalling, by trying to find an agreement with both Brescia and Tonali.

According to Di Marzio, the Rossoneri have made new contacts for the player this evening and that it is now a two horse race as to who signs the Brescia player.

On the other hand several other Italian media outlets report the opposite, such as for example FcInterNews who report that the Nerazzurri are on the home stretch with regards to signing Tonali.

According to that report, there is already an agreement in place with Brescia President Massimo Cellino for Tonali’s transfer worth €35 million, as well as a 5 year deal with the player himself worth €2,5 million net per season.

FcInterNews report further that Brescia President Cellino is opening the door for a bidding war between the two Milanese clubs as well as Juventus, but the player and his agent, Beppe Riso, have decided to maintain their faith in the agreement they have in place with Inter.
