Inter’s hopes of offloading Christian Eriksen to Paris Saint-Germain are set to receive a boost with the French giants expected to announce Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach imminently.

RMC Sport today reported the former Tottenham manager is on his way to Paris to finalise a deal that would see him replace Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked on Christmas Eve.

An official announcement should follow swiftly and at that point attention would switch immediately to PSG’s plans for the January transfer window.

Pochettino coached Eriksen for four years at Spurs and it has been widely reported that this could facilitate a deal that sees the Danish international move to Ligue 1.

Eriksen has made just five starts in all competitions this season after arriving from the Premier League last January.

He is all but certain to leave the club this month as Inter look to reinforce their squad with players more suited to Antonio Conte’s playing style.
