Antonio Conte had a stark warning for his Inter players as the Nerazzurri returned to training today, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.

Inter supporters are on cloud nine after Conte’s side opened up a four-point gap at the top of Serie A with victory over AC Milan on Sunday.

But Sky Sport Italia reported tonight that Conte was straight on top of his players at Appiano Gentile today, urging them not to underestimate this weekend’s match at home to Genoa.

Inter will have the chance to extend their gap over AC Milan to seven points, with Stefano Pioli’s side facing Roma several hours later on Sunday.

Christian Eriksen and Arturo Vidal are battling to secure the final spot in midfield against Genoa, the report continued.

Conte could turn to Roberto Gagliardini or Matias Vecino, though, given the Nerazzurri have three games coming up next week.

Genoa have lost just once in the league in 10 games since Davide Ballardini was re-appointed as head coach and Inter can’t afford to take them lightly.

On that note, a report from Gazzetta dello Sport earlier confirmed Conte had no intention to rest any of his players who are one booking away from a suspension.
