Filip Stankovic Could Replace Daniele Padelli In Inter Squad Next Season, Italian Media Reveal

Inter could have a Stankovic back in their first-team squad next season, according to an Italian media report today.

As per PassioneInter.com, academy goalkeeper Filip Stankovic, who is the son of the Nerazzurri’s legendary midfielder Dejan, could become the third-choice goalkeeper at the expense of Daniele Padelli, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

When it comes to Inter’s other goalkeepers, current number one Samir Handanovic will stay but there is no certainty that he will remain Antonio Conte’s first choice.

Inter’s management are said to be considering several other goalkeepers as they look to find a long-term replacement for the long-serving Slovenian, whose contract is up at the end of next season, but no names were mentioned.

It is unlikely that current back-up Ionut Andrei Radu will be given Handanovic’s starting jersey, with the report suggesting the Romanian could well head out on again after impressing for Genoa last season.

Inter have been linked with numerous keepers in recent weeks, including Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno, Udinese’s Juan Musso and Granada’s Rui Silva.

RB Leipzig’s Peter Gulacsi is the newest addition to the list, with a report earlier today claiming the Nerazzurri had made a huge contract offer to the Hungarian worth €10 million annually before tax.
