Inter are now playing beautiful football and are capable of winning the Serie A title this season, at least in the eyes of former Inter forward Christian Vieri.

Inter have been on a great run of form of late and currently sit four points clear of second placed AC Milan at the top of the table.

Antonio Conte’s side have been pigeonholed as a counterattacking side by many, but Vieri thought their football against Genoa on Sunday was a treat for the eyes.

“In the last three months Inter have been on an incredible journey, they won against Juve and AC Milan playing great football,” Vieri remarked during a broadcaster on his Twitch channel, Bobo TV.

“Now they are beautiful to look at, I enjoyed watching them play against Genoa.”

The former Italian national team forward also sang the praises of deadly Inter striking duo Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, who have impressively combined for 39 goals between them so far this season.

“Lukaku and Lautaro are phenomenal, they look for each other and they find each other.”

Vieri, who spent six years with Inter between 1999 and 2005, then went on to tip Inter for Serie A title glory this season and suggested that if they win the title, they could even go on to compete in Europe, something they have failed to do under Conte so far.

“They can win the league and the credit goes to the coach,” he added.

“If Inter win the Scudetto, then they could also think about fighting for silverware in Europe, although it doesn’t make sense to say they could do that now.”

In conclusion Vieri discussed Inter’s future but refused to let himself get too carried away.

“Inter have a great future, but let’s wait, they have played 10 good matches,” he argued.

Daniele Adani and Nicola Ventola also gave their views last night on Conte’s comments about Inter being competitive in Europe.
