Antonio Conte can breathe a sigh of relief after Inter’s players all tested negative for COVID-19 besides Danilo D’Ambrosio, according to a leading Italian journalist.
Inter announced the defender had contracted the virus yesterday and swiftly completed a fresh round of testing on the rest of the Nerazzurri’s squad.
La Repubblica’s Franco Vanni said there were no further positive cases within Inter’s first team at the moment.
There will obviously be another round of tests before Saturday’s match at home to Sassuolo, though.
A report in Gazzetta dello Sport this morning said Milan’s local health authority could prevent Inter’s players from joining up with their national teams next week, following D’Ambrosio’s positive test.
At the moment though, it remains more likely that players will be permitted to go on international duty as long as they organise private travel.
Club directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio reportedly remain positive for COVID-19 after getting the virus three weeks ago, while Dario Baccin, Alessandro Antonello and Angelo Capellini have all returned to being negative.
