Beppe Marotta remains well despite still being positive for COVID-19, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition reported today that Inter’s CEO is the only club director left with the virus, after Piero Ausilio, Alessandro Antonello and Dario Baccin (and club lawyer Angelo Capellini) all tested negative again.

Marotta’s condition is described as ‘more than good’ and this will come as a relief to Inter’s hierarchy and supporters.

The Nerazzurri have now suffered a COVID-19 outbreak in their squad, however, which has led to the postponement of Saturday’s Serie A match against Sassuolo.

Inter confirmed via a statement earlier that Milan’s local health authority had ordered the club to suspend all first-team activity up to and including Sunday March 21.

They also told the Nerazzurri’s players they were forbidden from joining up with their national teams for the upcoming international break.

Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino became the third and fourth players to return positive COVID-19 tests today, after Danilo D’Ambrosio and Samir Handanovic.

Inter’s game with Sassuolo is likely to be rescheduled for Wednesday April 7.
