Aleksandar Kolarov might remain in Serie A next season even if he leaves Inter, at least if a report in the Italian media is to be believed.

The Serbian defender is out of contract with the Nerazzurri this summer and reports recently have suggested Inter are unlikely to exercise their option to extend the deal.

Calciomercato.com have reported Kolarov could join Bologna for the 2021-22 campaign, albeit without offering further details.

The 35-year-old has made just 10 appearances in all competitions under Antonio Conte, having joined Inter from Roma last summer.

Kolarov will remain at home until Monday like the rest of Inter’s players after the Nerazzurri suffered a COVID-19 outbreak in their squad this week.

Milan’s local health authority earlier moved to postpone Saturday’s next Serie A fixture at home to Sassuolo, a decision which was officially confirmed by Serie A tonight.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport says the match against the Neroverdi is likely to be rescheduled for April 7.

Inter’s next game will therefore be away to Bologna on April 3, after the international break, at which point Antonio Conte could potentially have all of his COVID-19 positive players back available.

Milan’s local health authority ordered Inter to suspend all first-team activities until Monday as part of their measures adopted this morning.

They also banned Inter’s players from travelling anywhere for 14 days, meaning none of them can respond to their international call-ups for next week’s games.
