Inter have reportedly completed another round of COVID-19 testing today as the Nerazzurri deal with an outbreak in their first-team squad.

Saturday’s Serie A fixture against Sassuolo was ordered to be postponed by Milan’s local health authority this morning after four players contracted the virus.

La Repubblica’s Franco Vanni revealed Inter’s players were tested again at 13:00 CET, with nobody showing symptoms familiar to COVID-19.

Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Matias Vecino and Stefan de Vrij have all tested positive during the past 48 hours and were not present at Appiano Gentile today.

Inter will learn the results of their latest tests tomorrow and Serie A’s health protocol obliges them to do another round within 48 hours, although the club might do them earlier than that.

Antonio Conte’s players will now remain at home until Monday, after Milan’s local health authority ordered the club to suspend all first-team activity for the next four days.

A report from Gazzetta dello Sport says Inter’s game with Sassuolo is likely to be rescheduled for Wednesday 7 April.

The Nerazzurri are now Serie A’s second-worst affected team in terms of COVID-19 cases among players, as highlighted by a leading Italian journalist.

As far as the club’s directors are concerned, chief executive Beppe Marotta is the only person still positive after Piero Ausilio joined Alessandro Antonello, Dario Baccin and Angelo Capellini in returning a negative test yesterday.

Tuttosport’s print edition assured supporters this morning that Marotta was in a ‘more than good’ condition, though.
