Inter are hoping to secure their new shirt sponsor from across the Atlantic, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri had intensified contact with groups in the United States to source a replacement for Pirelli, whose 26-year deal with Inter expires this summer.

Various Chinese companies had previously been linked with a deal to replace Pirelli but all of these interests appear to have cooled.

Inter launched their new club badge today but they do not know yet which company will have their name next to the logo from next season.

Chief marketing officer Luca Danovaro assured supporters the Nerazzurri would not lose their strong identity with the new logo, which is based on the letters I and M, arguing it would help the club become ‘a cultural icon’.

Alessandro Antonello said the badge would lead Inter into the future and help them connect more effectively with new generations.
