Inter will have their president Steven Zhang cheering them on from the stands during their Serie A title run-in, according to a report in the Italian media today.
La Repubblica’s print edition said Zhang could not wait to make his return to Italy so that he can watch Antonio Conte’s side chase down the Scudetto.
Inter struck a potentially decisive blow to AC Milan and Juventus’ fading title hopes on Saturday, taking advantage of both dropping points with victory at Bologna.
The Nerazzurri now require just 19 points from their final 10 games to secure a first league title for 11 years.
Inter will aim to take one more stride towards the Scudetto when they host Sassuolo in their rearranged matchday 27 fixture on Wednesday.
Conte will be without the suspended Alessandro Bastoni and Marcelo Brozovic against the Neroverdi, with reports differing over who is in line to replace them.
Danilo D’Ambrosio and Matteo Darmian are vying to fill in for Bastoni at centre-back as per one source, while another report says Andrea Ranocchia should start again.
As far as Brozovic’s replacement is concerned, Roberto Gagliardini and Stefano Sensi appear to be the two players fighting to make Conte’s reshuffled starting XI.
