Antonio Conte is destined to stay at Inter for many years to come, according to former AC Milan and Juventus coach Fabio Capello.

Conte is out of contract with the Nerazzurri next summer but is expected to hold talks with the club over a new deal at the end of the season.

Inter seem highly likely to win their first Serie A title since 2010 and Capello believes their success under Conte would only just be getting started.

“I’m convinced Conte will stay and that Inter will begin a new era,” Capello told Il Giornale‘s online edition.

“Antonio has already created a strong group at Inter and I’m convinced they’ll do big things together.”

Inter overtook AC Milan at the top of Serie A following a 3-1 win over Lazio on February 14, and they have not looked back since.

Capello cannot see any twists in the tale now and believes that was the weekend which guaranteed the Scudetto for the Nerazzurri.

“There’s no competition left for the title,” he argued.

“I said a while ago that Inter had already won the Scudetto after AC Milan lost at Spezia (on February 13).

“Their rivals are too far back and the games left are decreasing all the time.

“I think Inter’s lead really is unassailable.”

Inter will seek an 11th straight win in Serie A when they welcome struggling Cagliari to San Siro on Sunday.

Reports earlier this week claimed the Nerazzurri might ask for permission to debut their innovative fourth kit against Leonardo Semplici’s side, but that appears not to be the case.
