Inter have identified two transfer targets for their left wing-back spot, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Antonio Conte wanted a new first-choice option for the left-hand side of his 3-5-2 system, despite Ivan Perisic’s impressive performances in 2021.

Chelsea’s Emerson Palmieri remains the Nerazzurri’s preferred choice ahead of the summer transfer window, but he is not the only option on the table.

Inter could alternatively move for Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico, who idolises Javier Zanetti and recently admitted it was ‘incredible’ to be linked with the Serie A leaders.

In addition to a new left wing-back, Conte wants another reliable option at front – potentially Edin Dzeko or Olivier Giroud – in order to give more rest to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

Inter would then hope to secure a central midfielder who is more suited to Conte’s style of play, with Udinese captain Rodrigo de Paul thought to be the obvious candidate.
