Inter’s rumoured transfer target Olimpiu Morutan could be set for a move to Serie A, the midfielder’s agent revealed today.

The Nerazzurri were linked with the 22-year-old again last night, albeit it seems Valencia could be about to beat them to signing the FCSB and Romania star.

Morutan has scored six goals and provided 13 assists in 31 appearances for FCSB this season and looks set to become a wanted man in the upcoming transfer window.

“I can confirm we’re in talks with two Italian clubs,” Morutan’s agent Florin Vulturar told FcInter1908.it.

“Federico Pastorello, our intermediary in Italy, is talking with them but I cannot reveal which clubs they are.

“There’s also been strong interest in the player from Spain in recent days; we’ll see what happens…”

FCSB president Gigi Becali recently revealed he had rejected a €10 million bid for Morutan from an unnamed club, arguing the player was worth double that money.

Asked what sort of price would be needed to secure Morutan’s services, Vulturar said: “You’d probably need a €15 million offer to get him to say yes.”

Vulturar was also asked if his client was ready to make the next step in his career and join a top European club.

He unsurprisingly gave a positive response, adding: “He’s improved a lot and he could move to one of the best leagues in the world.

“We’ve seen how Dennis Man, his former teammate, has settled in very well (at Parma), for instance.

“Morutan is an extremely talented player who is very similar to Lionel Messi, very technical and quick.”
