Antonio Conte has several questions for Suning before agreeing to stay at Inter for next season, according to a leading Italian broadcaster today.
As per Sport Mediaset (via FcInter1908.it), Conte remained tight-lipped on his future last night despite Suning chairman Jindong Zhang thanking him for his incredible work in an open letter on Tuesday.
Zhang said in his statement that Inter’s 19th scudetto was only the start of their journey, but Conte wants to sit down for talks with Suning and seek reassurances first.
Inter’s head coach is waiting to be offered a contract extension to his current deal, which expires in 2022, but he also wants reassurance that the Nerazzurri won’t sell key players in the summer.
On top of those requests, Conte also wants everyone’s salaries to be paid at Inter and he would like to be able to reinforce his squad ahead of next season’s UEFA Champions League.
SM’s report referenced rumours from England which said Tottenham Hotspur were preparing to offer Conte a monster salary worth €20 million annually to make him their new head coach.
Inter are targeting a 20th scudetto next season which would give them a second star on their shirt, but their Serie A title party could be ruined if Conte opts to return to the Premier League in the summer.
