Inter should not have any problems agreeing a new contract for Lucien Agoume, the midfielder’s agent assured today.

Agoume joined Spezia on a season-long loan last summer and is due to return to the Nerazzurri at the end of the campaign.

The 19-year-old’s future remains uncertain, with reports he is attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Marseille and other top clubs in Europe.

Speaking to Okcalciomercato.it, Agoume’s agent Domenico Cecere said: “His contract expires in June 2022 and we haven’t met with Inter yet, but there shouldn’t be any problems for the renewal.

“Agoume is destined to play for a big club, independently of Inter.

“He chose Inter two years ago and still wants to continue his development process.”

Agoume has endured a disappointing season at Spezia, making just two appearances in their last 14 league games under Vincenzo Italiano.

Cecere is certain this campaign won’t hamper the Frenchman’s development though, adding: “The coach has made his decisions, let’s see if he’ll give Agoume the chance to play in these last few games.

“When he’s come on he’s shown he’s a great talent.

“Agoume is one of the most important youngsters on the international scene and he’ll demonstrate that in the coming years.”

Inter signed Agoume from FC Sochaux in 2019 and made three substitute appearances for the Nerazzurri last season, before leaving for Spezia in the summer.

He has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the Aquilotti, although he was an unused substitute in both their matches against Inter, most recently a 1-1 draw last month.
