Ajax Defender Nicolas Tagliafico: “Hoping To Join Bigger League, Inter Are Brilliant & Javier Zanetti An Example”
Nicolas Tagliafico has once again batted an eyelid towards Inter as the Nerazzurri continue to be linked with the defender.
Antonio Conte’s side are widely thought to be seeking a left wing-back ahead of next season, with some reports suggesting they could chase the Ajax defender.
Tagliafico is said to be available for €15 million in the summer, although his agent last week denied he had spoken to Inter about a move.
Speaking to Radio Marca today, Tagliafico admitted: “I don’t want to lie, I’d like to go and play in a more demanding league.
“Inter are a brilliant club, but I’m feeling very calm; there has to be a benefit for all parties (if I move).
“I’m feeling good, I’m living a great moment of my career and I’ve won a lot.
“We’ll see what happens.”
Tagliafico also confirmed he was a big fan of Inter vice-president and fellow countryman Javier Zanetti, who has given Inter an inside track for signing Argentine players in the past.
“He’s certainly an idol and an example,” the 28-year-old added.
“Zanetti was always a professional and disciplined player, I admired him for the way he worked.
“With Javier I’ve always had good communication.”
Tagliafico has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Ajax this season, scoring once and providing four assists for the Eredivisie champions.
He made 11 starts in Europe as Erik ten Hag’s side finished third in their UEFA Champions League group and then reached the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, where they were beaten by Roma.
