Antonio Conte skipped his post-match duties after Inter’s win over Roma to avoid awkward questions about the club’s off-field problems, according to a report in Italty.

Conte sent his assistant coach Cristian Stellini to talk to the media after the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 victory at San Siro, their club-record 15th straight home win in Serie A.

As per FcInter1908.it, Conte did not want to talk about matters off the field and reached a decision together with the club that Stellini should speak instead.

Inter do not want to focus on anything other than their historic Serie A title, which was wrapped up two weekends ago with four games to spare.

Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang asked his players to give up two months’ wages during a meeting on Monday, but the request is widely reported to have gone down badly.

Inter’s squad is expected to reject the proposal and it remains to be seen how Suning will respond, given their urgent need to cut costs ahead of next season.

Before last night’s match, chief executive Beppe Marotta assured the club would honour their players’ contracts and accused the media of magnifying Inter’s problems more than they did with other clubs.
