Inter will confirm Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach in the next 48 hours, according to a leading Italian broadcaster tonight.
Sky Sport Italia said the Nerazzurri intended to announce Inzaghi as Antonio Conte’s replacement either tomorrow or on Wednesday.
Inzaghi signed his contract to join Inter on Friday night, but the club have been unable to announce his appointment because Inzaghi has issues to sort with Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
He is formally tied to the Biancocelesti until June 30 and the acrimonious nature of his departure means Lotito has done little to facilitate his arrival at Inter.
Inzaghi is already hard at work planning for next season at Inter, with a report earlier today saying he was very keen to keep hold of Marcelo Brozovic.
He has also spoken to Romelu Lukaku over the phone to reassure him about the Nerazzurri’s project, amid reported interest from the striker’s former club Chelsea.
