Romelu Lukaku could be on his way out of Inter, according to a report in the UK.
Sky Sports ambitiously claimed today that the 28-year-old is ‘likely to leave’ the Nerazzurri this summer, with Chelsea preparing a big-money move.
Chelsea are pursuing a deal for either Lukaku or Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, with the newly-crowned champions hoping to strengthen their options up front.
Inter need to sell players due to their financial difficulties and would want around £100 million (around €115 million) to sacrifice their top scorer.
Sky’s report tallies with a story in The Guardian, which said Lukaku was ‘considering his future’ at Inter after Antonio Conte’s surprise departure.
However, reports in Italy have suggested the reality is very different, after Simone Inzaghi called Lukaku to reassure him about the club’s project last night.
Lukaku is considered ‘a key player’ for Inter and it seems unlikely that they would sell the Belgian international in this transfer window.
