Inter linked young Uruguayan central defender Alan Matturro will not be joining the Nerazzurri in January but Serie B outfit Genoa instead.

This according to Uruguayan top flight side Defensor Sporting’s President Alberto Ward, who confirmed as much in an interview with radio station AM 970 Universal, as reported via FcInterNews, in the immediate aftermath of winning the Copa AUF Uruguay.

Sporting Defensor won the inaugural tournament yesterday evening when 19 year old forward Andrés Ferrari scored the winner in the 90th minute against La Luz to secure the win.

Alan Matturro has according to reports these last few weeks in the Italian media, been linked with a January move to Inter but Genoa have now beaten the Nerazzurri to the player.

The 18 year old central defender has been likened to Uruguay and Juventus legend Paolo Montero after breaking into the Defensor Sporting first team last season picking up seven league appearances and scoring the one goal.
