Torino defender Perr Schuurs is not set to leave his club at the end of the season, and will stay another year despite the interest of Inter as well as teams in the Premier League.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 23-year-old intends to stay another season with the Granata despite there already being significant transfer interest, whilst his value has skyrocketed to €50 million.

Schuurs joined Torino from Ajax during last summer transfer window, making the switch for a fee of around €9 million.

However, the price tag for the Dutchman has risen precipitously off the back of his outstanding displays at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino this season.

The 23-year-old was brought in to replace Bremer during the summer, with the Brazilian having been widely regarded as the best-performing defender in Serie A last season, and the Granata have hardly missed a beat with the transition.

Accordingly, the valuation of Schuurs is now several times what Torino paid for him less than twelve months ago, with Tuttosport reporting that it would now cost around €50 million to prise the Dutchman from Torino.

In any event, Schuurs has been linked with Inter, with the Nerazzurri reportedly seeing him as having more of the right profile to replace his fellow Dutchman Stefan de Vrij in the centre of the back three were the former Lazio man to be on his way.

The fact that the asking price for Schuurs has risen so dramatically would also raise serious questions about whether or not Inter would be able to afford a deal for him.

Liverpool are also keen, whilst Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked as a bidding war could be sparked.

In any event, Tuttosport report that Schuurs would have little intention of leaving Torino after just one season at the club.
