Juventus supporters have aimed some chants at the President of the FIGC for his decision to lift Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s suspension for tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia match through an executive pardon.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Bianconeri fans made their feelings known about the decision by FIGC (Italian FA) President Gabriele Gravina with chants during their match against Napoli.

Inter striker Lukaku had been suspended for the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus after receiving two yellow cards during the first leg earlier this month.

However, on Saturday it was revealed that FIGC President Gravina has made the decision to intervene to allow the Belgian international to play tomorrow.

The circumstances of the scandalous racist chants that had been aimed at the Nerazzurri striker by a “majority” of the Bianconeri supporters present in the stand which he “silenced” to earn his second yellow card prompted Gravina to decide to use his power of executive pardon.

This was a highly unusual step for Gravina to take, as suspensions for receiving two yellow cards are virtually never lifted in the way that suspensions for straight red cards are.

However, the FIGC President made the decision that the mitigating circumstances were such that it was the appropriate step to take to pardon the Inter striker.

This did not go down well with certain Bianconeri fans, who addressed Gravina with chants during their 0-1 loss to Napoli in the league over the weekend.

This comes after 171 Juventus fans have been hit with stadium bans, fans, or both from Turin police for their parts in the racism incident, whilst more are continuing to be investigated.

Meanwhile, Juventus themselves had immediately banned two fans in particular from the stadium after video emerged of them participating in racist chants aimed at Lukaku.
