Chelsea are pushing to sign Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana, and could offer either defender Trevoh Chalobah or midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as part of a deal to sign the Cameroonian.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s Champions League hero is the Blues’ top target in goal, but that negotiations have yet to take off as Inter do not want Kepa.

According to the Gazzetta, Chelsea have made their decision, and will prioritize a move for Onana during the summer transfer window ahead of all other possible targets in the goalkeeping position.

The Blues have reportedly already started up talks with the Nerazzurri to try and sign the 27-year-old former Ajax man, making their interest clear in a recent meeting.

Chelsea have offered outcast goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as part of a deal for Onana, although the Gazzetta report that the Nerazzurri have made clear that they have no interest in the former Athletic Club keeper.

Rather, Inter’s top target to replace Onana should the Cameroonian be sold would remain Empoli’s breakout star Guglielmo Vicario, and there would be little willingness to deviate from this succession plan to capitalize on an opportunity to sign Kepa.

However, Chelsea could still look to other players within what has become a very large squad to offer makeweights that would interest the Nerazzurri.

One possibility would be defender Chalobah.

The 23-year-old Englishman had been among Inter’s targets in both last summer transfer window and in the January window of this season, seen as a possible replacement for Milan Skriniar.

Given that Skriniar is set to leave at the end of the season, the Nerazzurri’s search for a replacement is in full swing, and Chelsea are hoping that this means that the offer of Chalobah could tempt them to make a deal for Onana.

Meanwhile, the Blues could also offer midfielder Loftus-Cheek as part of a deal for the Inter goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old has hardly been in favour under any of the Blues’ recent coaches, but has been linked with Inter in the past, and given that the Nerazzurri are expected to make midfield reinforcements during the summer transfer window could be offered as part of a deal for Onana.
