Inter Milan have a number of contract extensions lined up for the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

The newspaper name defender Alessandro Bastoni and midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan among those who could get new deals. Then, there are Stefan de Vrij, Edin Dzeko, and Hakan Calhanoglu who could all have their contracts extended.

A lot of this has to do with the potential windfall that could come from reaching a Champions League final. Inter have not yet booked their place in the final, but took a big step with their 2-0 win over AC Milan.

Even without the final, however, Inter’s Champions League earnings have already soared this season. Tuttosport note that all of this is contingent on the Nerazzurri keeping their spot in the top four of the Serie A table.

However, if Inter do manage to qualify for next season’s Champions League, then their earnings from this season’s edition of the competition would give them the financial wiggle room to extend several players’ contracts.

Inter Milan Line Up Contract Extensions For Several Key Men

Defender Bastoni and midfielder Calhanoglu both see their deals run out at the end of June 2024. Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri want to secure both players’ future far beyond that date.

Moreover, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus target Bastoni could be sold this summer if his deal is not extended.

Inter don’t want either Bastoni or Calhanoglu to go into the final seasons of their respective deals. Another player whose contract runs out at the end of next June but who could receive an extension is Mkhitaryan.

The 34-year-old joined from Roma last summer on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract. The Armenian former Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund man has been a vital player for the Nerazzurri all campaign, however.

As such, Inter may well decide to reward him with a new deal.

Meanwhile, striker Edin Dzeko and defender Stefan de Vrij both see their contracts run out at the end of next month.

Inter would be ready to offer both new deals, however. According to Tuttosport, all of this will be done at the end of the season.

With extra earnings from the Champions League, the newspaper report, the Nerazzurri are prepared to lock down a significant portion of the squad on new contracts.
