Turkish international midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will start ahead of Marcelo Brozovic in Inter Milan’s Champions League clash with AC Milan tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who anticipate that the Turk will be the player to start at the base of the Nerazzurri’s midfield trio.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will have a decision to make tomorrow between Calhanoglu and Brozovic.

Both are quite proficient in the holding midfield role. Whilst the Croat had begun the season as the clear first-choice option, the Turk had been given the chance whilst he was injured.

Therefore, Calhanoglu is often the man to start in midfield in the big matches this season. Accordingly, the former AC Milan man will start the match tomorrow.

Calhanoglu had been the player who started ahead of Brozovic in the first leg. The former Milan midfielder started against his former side as the Nerazzurri gave themselves a 2-0 advantage for the second leg.

Brozovic then came on from the bench in the second half.

Calhanoglu To Keep Place Ahead Of Brozovic For Inter Milan

According to Tuttosport, Inzaghi is planning to stick with Calhanoglu. The 29-year-old is anticipated to start in the deepest position in a midfield trio.

Furthermore, Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start alongside Calhanoglu, as has been the case in many of Inter’s biggest matches this season.

Inter are close to extending the former Rossoneri man’s contract. Due to his outstanding performances, Calhanoglu will reportedly pen a new three-year deal soon.

Elsewhere on the pitch, Tuttosport confirm reports that Inzaghi will stick with the starting eleven from the first leg.

This will mean that Edin Dzeko keeps his place in attack. The Bosnian will start alongside Lautaro Martinez, leading the line.

Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile, will start on the bench, according to Tuttosport.
